iPad PD Module 2.1 Overview, Creating a Staff Account and Setting up a Staff Profile

Module Aim

Teachers gain an understanding of how Edmodo can enhance teaching and learning, whilst gaining the competency to setup their own account and their staff profile.

Step 5 – Setup an Edmodo Account

If you have completed any modules already or registered for the iPad PD Program you will already have an Edmodo account. You can skip this step.  If you haven’t, then follow these steps:

To register for the online iPad PD Program staff must sign-up for an Edmodo teacher account and join the iPad PD Program group inside Edmodo.

  1.  Go to berwickcollege.edmodo.com and click on ‘I’m A Teacher‘.
  2. You will then be asked to enter in the school code which is PR3UCJ.
  3. You will then need to select your Title, enter your First Name, Last Name, Email (use edumail or your berwickcollege.vic.edu.au address) and then select a password.
  4. Make sure you record this password somewhere secure, if you do lose it you will be able to reset it at a later date by click ‘forgot password’ at the login screen.

Staff then click on the ‘+’ symbol to join a group and enter the group code: psbpji

You have now create an Edmodo account and joined the iPad Program PD Group.

Step 6 – Edit Your Profile Picture (in the iPad App)

Firstly, make sure you have downloaded the Edmodo iPad App. This can be done by clicking here or by searching the Berwick College App Catalog on your iPad.

Secondly, access the Edmodo iPad App and login with your email and password. Once you’re logged in, click on the your name and avatar in the top left of your screen:

Next you need to click on the ‘cog‘ in the top right hand corner of the page and select ‘Change Avatar‘.  Note: you can also change your password here if you need to.

You then select whether you would like to take a photo or pick an existing photo from an album on your iPad. We advise students that they must either use an Edmodo avatar or a photo of themselves, in school uniform, from the shoulders up. We would like teachers to do the same.

You can then ‘Move and Scale’ your profile picture and click on ‘Use’.

Step 7 – Fill Out Your Profile Information

To fill out your profile information, you will need to open Edmodo in a web browser.

  1. Go to berwickcollege.edmodo.com and sign-in to your Edmodo account
  2. Click on your photo in the top right corner and select ‘profileAccess profile in web browser
  3. You can then edit your profile by clicking the highlighted sections of the page:Editing profile
  4. Edit or explore the following sections of your profile:
    1. About me
    2. Shared Badges
    3. Communities – click discover to find communities to join (note: these can be annoying!)
    4. Invite teachers
    5. Show all Connections

Step 8 – Demonstrate competency

To demonstrate competency for Module 2.1 staff must complete the quiz inside the iPad PD Program group in Edmodo. You can find out how to join this group by going through the guide: How To Register for the iPad PD Program.
